About Kat
I am a Virtual Consultant working remotely, with over 20 years of experience helping businesses and individuals stay organized, efficient, and focused on their goals.
As a highly creative, eclectic person, I have a variety of experience. Going way back to the beginning when I first began going to university, studying psychology and fine arts, I was a budding artist and decided to choose a corporate job despite being truly, a creative artistic fledgling. I dreamed of one day moving to Europe, transferring from my job. Thus I began searching for fortune 500 companies with international offices. I imagined one day I would transfer to France. I did end up traveling for work, heading up a conference with my team in Puerto Rico. I also attended a conference event working in Jamaica. I travel to visit a friend in Venezuela and spent a couple of weeks there I enjoyed the sense of being completely foreign, and learning things from a brand new perspective that being submerged in a completely different culture, language I don't speak, environment I've never been in. I truly cherish and value collaborating with a diverse, eclectic, creative group of people.
I was employed at some of the largest fortune 500 international companies including, but not limited too, Cendant, Nabisco, Mercer HR, and Gensler in the economic, cultural, and media powerhouse cities of the United States.
I moved around, experiencing new environments, and places, working in New York City (Garment District), Chicago (The Loop/River North), and downtown Los Angeles (Financial District) and Venice Beach, California, providing high-level support across various industries.
Currently, I live and work in my hometown where I've settled back for several years. I love being rooted in the town I was raised in, and my experiences traveling and living in new places has broaden my mindset, understanding of people, and skill set in many useful ways.
I began as a receptionist for a healthcare agency, diving into learning computers and truly learning on the job. I shifted to supporting the vice president of an international hospitality industry (Cendant). My role evolved into a managerial position, organizing, maintaining, managing and shipping training manuals, workbooks, and all marketing collateral for all the domestic properties of Howard Johnson across the US. I reported directly to the Vice President of Howard Johnson working in conjunction with the President, and the VP of Marketing along with their assistants. I managed the team consisting of three trainers who traveled weekly to various properties to train front desk, housekeeping, management and maintenance teams on franchise policies and standards to new conversions and properties that needed updated training for their staff.
I then moved to Nabisco where I supervised documentation support in the food and beverage industry. There I was responsible for populating new software with complex information and training employees on how to use the new software.
As a Microsoft office certified expert and PowerPoint specialist, I completed projects creating the marketing materials that would become videos and workbooks for an international corporate training company.
I worked for a marketing company rebranding their marketing materials, as well as clients sales and marketing collateral/materials. I created complex charts, graphs, and presentations reporting on field market research the company conducted for pharmaceutical clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Merck & Co., Roche, Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline.
I completed a project in Chicago as a desktop publisher for UBS Private Global Wealth Management. I enjoyed a few projects working with architects, including an independent boutique farm, a small firm in LA and at one of the largest international architecture firms in the world, Gensler (a global design and architecture firm), where I supported the co-directors David Gensler and Andy Cohen in the downtown LA Gensler corporate headquarters.
I worked in downtown LA in the financial district assisting the top level executive the Head of Global Affairs at Mercer HR consulting in California. After years working in corporate office environments, I decided to broaden my services to creative entrepreneurs. I assisted the founder of her own successful art business. I began branching out to more creative, flexible collaborations.
I then moved back to the east coast where I worked directly with the Founder/President of a moving company, specializing in corporate clients. Large corporate clients moving from one New York City office building to another which required extensive complex organization of employees, information, computers, filing cabinets, highly sensitive, confidential information. I managed multiple projects in coordination with the owner, the president of marketing, and the field team to coordinate their schedules, project dates, vendors, the clients team of employees and managing projects to ensure moves were completed efficiently, and all moving parts, including personnel, smoothly complete projects on time.
